Good Bones, Full Panels
Kingstowne's neighborhoods were built mostly in the 1980s and 1990s — colonials, townhomes, and condos with copper wiring that is still in fine shape. This is not a rewire market. It is a capacity market.
Those 80s and 90s panels were sized before EVs, before induction cooking, before every bedroom became a home office. Add a charger, a hot tub, or a finished basement, and a 150-amp panel runs out of room fast.
Upgrades, Not Rewires
What Kingstowne homeowners actually need: service upgrades to 200 amps, subpanels where the main is full, dedicated circuits for EV chargers and workshops, and whole-home surge protection for all the electronics.
We also do a lot of "while you are at it" work during basement finishes and kitchen remodels — running the circuits you will want five years from now while the walls are already open.
Basement Finishes Done Right
Kingstowne basements are prime finishing territory — and the electrical makes or breaks the project. Code requires AFCI protection on bedroom circuits, GFCI near any wet bar or bathroom, and proper egress lighting. We also recommend running extra circuits for whatever the space might become: a home theater draws very differently from a guest suite.
The panel question comes up on almost every basement job. If your panel is already near capacity, the basement finish is the moment to upgrade — not after the drywall is up and the inspector flags it.
Beyond basements, the other Kingstowne staple is the garage workshop circuit. Table saws, compressors, and EV chargers all want dedicated 240-volt runs. We wire garages for what you actually do in them — not just a light and a door opener.
