Newer Homes, New Demands
Cameron Station was built from the 1990s onward — townhomes and condos with modern copper wiring that is still in good shape. You probably do not need a rewire. What you likely need is capacity.
Those 1990s panels were sized for 1990s life. Since then, homeowners have added EV chargers, heat pumps, induction ranges, and full home offices. A 150-amp panel that was plenty in 1998 can be maxed out today.
What We Do Most Here
Panel upgrades to 200 amps. Dedicated 240-volt circuits for EV chargers. New circuits for finished basements and home offices. Whole-home surge protection, which is cheap insurance for all the electronics in a modern townhome.
Townhome living means shared walls and HOA rules. We coordinate the work cleanly — most jobs are done in a day or two with minimal disruption to you or your neighbors.
Townhome Electrical Realities
In a townhome, you own everything inside your walls, but the service equipment and metering are often in shared or exterior locations. That affects how we plan panel upgrades — we may need to coordinate a brief power shutoff that touches neighboring units, and we always give advance notice.
Garages are the other townhome factor. Most Cameron Station townhomes have attached garages, which makes EV charger runs short and straightforward. The charger circuit usually runs from your panel, through the garage wall, and you are done — often in a single day.
One more common request: dedicated circuits for home offices. A townhome office with a desktop, monitors, printer, and space heater can pull real power — and sharing that circuit with the bedroom outlets is what trips breakers. A single dedicated 20-amp run solves it permanently.
Planning an EV Charger?
Start with a load calculation. We will check whether your panel has room or needs an upgrade first, so you do not pay for a charger install twice. Call (301) 679-9193.
